Light Drawing has become one of the most eloquent photographic tools I have used as a teacher. This is largely because of my former student, now colleague Miguel Rosario. He saw my dabblings with Light Drawing and took it to a whole new level when we were teaching together in the RI Training School (RI’s Juvenile Detention Center) for the AS220 Youth program. With the use of X-Mas Lights, LED Mechanics lights and off camera flash with colored filters we are able to create multiple textures and line quality. The physicality and teamwork needed to make some of these images engaged the most distracted students.
