Perfectly Preserved Sea Shore
Perfectly Preserved Sea Shore sculptures are sections of tide line sea debris secured with epoxy resin, which is applied on site. Once cured each piece is taken from the sea shore to the studio where additional coats of epoxy resin are added for additional strength. Each sculpture is created without altering or constructing any of it myself. The only editing process I have used is determining which sections of tide line to preserve. I call these pieces documentary sculptures. Like a documentary photograph these sculptures are candid documents of our wider world. These samples of our world show the natural organic and the man made inorganic matter concentrated by the rain, winds and tides of our shared environment. Once these pieces are isolated on a gallery wall the viewer can contemplate the beauty of the forms created by natural cycles while also considering their organic and inorganic origins.
